WHAT IS POKOKED?
Pokok-Ed is an educational game that simulates the palm oil supply chain in countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Cameroon. Players make economical decisions about how best to keep their virtual plantation sustainable and running for as long as they can.
The game is designed for classroom use, aimed at ages 12 through 16.
(May not be suitable for youth <12 due to the inclusion of aspects such as child labor)

WHY POKOKED?
We created PokokEd to mobilize students in consumer markets to take informed approaches toward palm oil sustainability
from abroad.
We also hope to inspire students to consider the global nature of consumer product supply chains, and how consumer
choices abroad can influence sustainable and ethical practices in producer regions.

OUR Curriculum
PokokEd is supported by an adaptable curriculum to be pushed out to classrooms for educational purposes. The curriculum is customized specifically for each school grade (grades 8 through 10).
The curriculum serves to educate students about:
- The palm oil cultivation process for smallholder farmers in developing regions
- How issues such as child labor and rainforest deforestation can arise out of necessity
- Options for sustainable practices in palm oil cultivation
- The consequences of different approaches to sustainability
And much more...
